Are you planning a quince anos in Houston TX?  Will you be renting a party hall for this occasion?  If so, you should know a few things before signing the contract.  The first thing is that there are over two hundred party halls in Houston TX to choose from.  In other words, that is way too many to visit on your own.  I hope to save you time by making your reception hall choices simpler with the following planning tips:

  • Surf the web to narrow down your hall selection by capacity.  Never rent quinceanera halls in Houston that are too big for your event.  This is a quinceanera decorator’s nightmare.  The cavernous feeling can overwhelm your guests.  Massive quince halls also cause feelings of isolation.  Always try to rent a hall that has a small, more intimate feel.  This way your guests will feel comfortable and cozy.
  • Check capacity numbers before signing a contract.  If the hall’s capacity is 1500 or more and you are planning on having 300 guests or less, you may have some trouble filling it out with quality decorations.

Salones de Fiestas en Houston TX

  • Visit at least three or four party halls before signing a contract.  Pay close attention to the staff on each visit, especially the managers.  Are they smiling and laughing?  Or are they dour and disinterested?  If the staff is happy and energetic, that enthusiasm often bleeds over to guests, ensuring a quality experience.  Look for a staff that is eager to help with genuine smiles.  There is nothing worse than being served by unhappy people.
  • Make sure there is enough parking at the salon de fiesta to support your guests.  And if venue parking is an issue, be sure to rent a shuttle or transportation service for guests that will park at a central location.  Your guests will be happy and appreciative of your forethought.

  • Quince lighting plays a major role in the overall feel of the fiesta.  Bright lights that cannot be adjusted can be a tough obstacle to overcome, especially if the event is held in the evening.  Ask the manager if the lights are adjustable.  If not, can alternate lighting be arranged?
  • Does the reception hall have their own tables and chairs or are you required to rent them from elsewhere.  You would be surprised how many party halls do not have their own party rental equipment.  Always ask if their equipment is included in the price quote.  Some halls try and make you pay extra for this.
  • Read all contracts twice.  Make sure the contract language includes everything quoted by the manager or salesperson.  Pay particular attention to the hours.  Some include setup times as part of the overall rental period.  I have seen events that go on for two hours and then the hall management informs the renters that they are required to pay overtime to the employees because it was in the contract that the rental period starts at set-up.  So be very careful before you sign.
